Parkside Open Water Mile Swim

The Parkside Open Water Mile swim is fast approaching on May 10, in lagoons of San Mateo.  This is a team focus event and we have been working on the fitness and the strength to complete this swim in fine form.  The swim is in flat and usually calm, cool waters.

Registration can be found at: www.pacificmasters.org/comp/schd.html

Menlo Masters Long Course/ Dick Bennett Memorial Meet

This will be the second time we are hosting our own USMS swim meet.  We are hosting the meet at Sacred Heart Pool in Atherton to take advantage of their 50 meter swim facility.  This is the only long course meet on the Pacific Masters schedule so we are hoping for at least 400 swimmers to attend.

When we hosted the meet in 2006, we received the highest ranking possible from the regional auditors and we are attempting to improve on that performance.

Judy Strauss and Rebecca Pinto are our meet directors and they have assembled a senior management staff around them to execute the numerous details of the meet.

The calls to action are:
1. Please sign up to help volunteer on the board above the water faucets in the pool hallway.
2. Register to swim in the meet.  You can do both.
