2006 Dynamic Duo Results

Thanks for your participation in the 2006 Dynamic Duo.

It was a great event all around.  The weather was perfect, everyone showed up for their heat on time and there was an air of friendly competitiveness permeating from the event.  Each heat was seeded so that the finish times would be close and they were.  Compare times within the heats and not heat to heat.

Congratulations to all the fruit and melon winners and a special thank you to Eva Gottstein who donated wonderful stuffed animals, made by her family's company, Sigikid.  The stuffed animals were "guardian angels" and a few lucky swimmers in heats 3 and 4 were awarded these prizes.

Rockin Menlo Masters

Menlo Masters demonstrated great support for the 13 year old swimmer/triathletes turned rock and roll musicians and have assisted them to reach the final round of the KFOX battle of the bands competition!

"Everyone has been so nice and supportive.  People are telling me they have been voting and asking about the results."  Said proud parent and Menlo Master, Shelby Blackburn.  The kids were on the cover of the Redwood City Daily News Sunday edition with a great story and photo!

On Wednesday they (Lane 4) play live on 98.5 KFOX with Greg Kihn at 7:00am.  Then, once again everyone votes that day from 10:00am to 8:00pm at www.kfox.com/pages/lbs2006.html

They made it down to the final two bands and they have a shot of winning the competition, which is amazing for 13 year olds!  Every vote counts, they won by 20 votes last round.

Let's get behind Lane 4 on Wednesday and then maybe we can get them to play for the team some day.
