Menlo Masters Meet Wrap-up

Success!

The First Annual Menlo Masters Meet held this past Saturday was a huge success!

This by far was the biggest team building exercise Menlo Masters has ever been a part of.   In my opinion, we met and exceeded ours and everyone else's expectations.

I would like to thank Rick Peterson for planting the seed last year for a Worlds Qualifying Meet.

Thanks to the Meet Directors Rebecca Pinto and Judy Strauss, who handled big issues and small details valiantly.

Thanks to Volunteer Chairperson, Ginny Langmuir, who organized nearly 100 people and tasks so beautifully.

Credit to Snack Bar Chair, Miki Armstrong whose organization of food and labor made sure everyone was well fed and satisfied.

Credit to Deck Entry chair, Stacey Frederickson who ensured that race day entries were handled smoothly, and to Ann Young whose pre-registration work was timely and precise.

Much praise to Al Humphrey and Eric Kinney whose teamwork and tenacity landed an unprecedented 20 sponsors for our first meet.  The Fina Worlds Organizing committee wants to interview them for ideas and process.

Special thanks to Sarah Fisher for her Meet Marketing skills and to Heidi Renner who constructed the "Goody Bags."

The voices of the meet were handled in a professional manner by Mary Posey and Kristian Neergard.

By no means could I forget the dozens of others who assisted in setting up the meet and cleaning up.  Or, those who made sandwiches early Saturday morning or manned check in tables and t-shirt and award tables.  Also,  the runners, marshals, and Tom Anderson and Sharon Swann for making the copies of our programs.

By the way, there was some swimming being done while we were working.  Here is how it breaks down:

-About 350 swimmers total

-Over 90 Menlo Masters Swimmers
