Blue and Gold Swim Meet

The annual Menlo Masters Blue and Gold Meet will be held this Saturday from 7:00-8:30am.  The goal of the meet is to get our swimmers thinking about moving through the water faster than February pace, and kicking off our short courses swim meet season which spans from March to May.

This year we will break the team into two groups competing to see which group accumulates more swims in the meet.  Quantity is rewarded over quality.  This way we all can get more experience swimming favorite and not so favored events.

The Blue Team will be all the swimmers who swam OVER 50,000 yards in February.the tired and somewhat broken-down swimmers.

The Gold Team will be all the swimmers who swam UNDER 50,000 yard in February.tapering for the meet and remaining fresh and powerful. (The team favored by the Vegas odds makers)

There will be a workout before the meet from 6-7am for those wanting to warm up for the meet or for those who are still getting accustomed to the whole swim meet idea, but still want to have a refreshing Saturday swim.

The meet will have a very informal atmosphere, but friendly competition will get everyone moving a bit faster than a regular workout.

You do not have to register, just show up.  You know which team you are on.

This is the tentative event list:
1. 200 Free
2. 50 Back
3. 100 IM
4. 50 Breast
5. 100 Free
6. 50 Fly
7. 100 Fin kick
8. 50 Free
9. 200 Relay of some sort.

We will compete in 6-8 lanes and 3-5 lanes will always be open for warm up and warm down.

Hope to see you on Saturday!
